About Me
Experience
Hello! My name is Gareth and I am Welsh/British and live in Newport, South Wales. I have been a teacher of English as a foreign language for the last 8 years and taught ESL in the U.K, Italy, Greece and the Marshall Islands. I have both a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and CELTA qualifications, which taught me a myriad of different skills and methodologies to help students learn and improve in their studies.
Teaching is a huge passion of mine, and has been for a very long time. I think this is important because having a teacher care about their field is integral to having an enjoyable learning experience. Learning a language needs to be relevant, it needs to be applicable but above all it needs to be enjoyable. No one has learned anything or become passionate about a subject if they never enjoyed doing it.

About me
I consider myself to be a positive person with a optimistic outlook. I love travelling to new places and experiencing new cultures. I especially love Italy and Italian history. I love the cinema and socialising after a film. The outdoors is a big passion and I enjoy camping.
Teaching subjects
I have taught a variety of different lessons for learners of English. These include: IELTS, FCE, CAE, TRINITY GSE, ISE, Michigan preparation classes, in addition to general English classes of all ages and levels from children to adults and beginner to advanced.
My material is completely CEFR compliant to ensure that students have real objectives that are logically improved upon, level by level.

Courses

Classes are fully CEFR matched, utilising course materials that progress you through A2-C1 levels. Whether this is for general English or for examination preparation, you are in safe and experienced hands.
New English File & National Geographic are books that are considered one of the best in the world. This is why our courses are designed around them.
Other materials may be used. Particularly if you have special requirements, or exam preparation needs.
Our LMS
Learning English doesn't just end in a video-conference call on Zoom or Skype, but we also set self-study projects and homework assignments on our online Learning Management System (LMS). This helps you to apply what you've learned in fun, new and interesting ways!
